Usage Tips
- Outs count only "clean" cards — cards that give you the winning hand without giving opponents a better one.
- The 4-2 rule is a quick estimate. Use the calculator for precise probabilities.
- Consider implied odds: even if direct odds aren't enough, future bets may make calling profitable.
- Some outs may be "tainted" (hitting your draw gives an opponent a better hand). Evaluate carefully.
This tool uses Monte Carlo simulation for educational reference. Results are approximate.

What Are Outs?
Outs are the unseen cards that improve your current hand. Knowing your outs helps you calculate the probability of making your draw.
The 4-2 Rule
- On the Flop: Outs × 4 ≈ chance of hitting by the River (%)
- On the Turn: Outs × 2 ≈ chance of hitting on the River (%)
Common Drawing Hands
- Flush Draw: 9 outs (~35% flop → river)
- Open-Ended Straight Draw: 8 outs (~32% flop → river)
- Gutshot Straight Draw: 4 outs (~17% flop → river)
- Combo Draw (flush + straight): Up to 15 outs (~54% flop → river)
